Anthony Bizzarro, 80, of 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Meadville Medical Center.

Anthony was born at the former Spencer Hospital in Meadville, on January 5, 1933, a son of the late Ralph and Ursala Lena (Nuzzulo) Bizzarro.

On November 29, 1958 Anthony married Marilyn Theuret; she survives.

He was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

Anthony retired from the PennDot Driver License Center of Meadville. He had previously been employed by AA1 Exterminating and by the former Avtex Fibers Corp. in the Spinning Dept. as well as in Building 2-6 for nearly 20 years. During those years he was also employed by Lakeside Beer Distributor for 30 years. In his earlier years he was employed by Westinghouse. A veteran, Anthony entered the US Air Force on January 11, 1952 and served his country until his honorable discharge on January 10, 1956. He attended Meadville schools and earned his degree from Saegertown. A member of the Italian Civic Club (ICC), Anthony was also a member of the Eagles Club, American Legion Post #111 and a former member of VFW Post #2006. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, cooking, listening to Italian music, riding his snow mobile, attending picnics and watching old westerns. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Marilyn, of 54 years, Anthony is survived by four children Brenda S. Bizzarro of Saegertown, Diane M. Lavery and her husband Rick of Erie, Stephen A. Bizzarro and his companion Lisa Carney of Meadville, Michael J. Bizzarro of Saegertown, three grandchildren Nicholas R. Bizzarro of Saegertown, Kearstyn S. Bizzarro of Geneva, Emily Barickman of Meadville, a brother Angelo Bizzarro of Meadville, two sisters Antoinette 'Toni' Cummings and her husband Jack of Saegertown, Anna Jean Leone and her husband Vincent of Erie, two aunts Anne Pete of Meadville, Carmella Fischer and her husband Frank of Meadville, a cousin John Pete and his wife Barb of Erie, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by a brother Albert Bizzarro.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 2-5 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a Scripture Service will be conducted at 3:00 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 2, 2013, with Fr. Marc Solomon, Pastor, officiating.

Interment with Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006 will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
