Adeline 'Dollie' A. Merenda, 95, of 535 Williamson Road, Meadville, passed away Wednesday, January 18th, 2012, at UPMC-Hamot Medical Center, Erie.
Dollie was born in Meadville on July 11, 1916, a daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth Affinito.
On September 5, 1935 Dollie married Patsy Merenda; he preceded her in death on October 12, 1982.
She was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.
In 1968 Dollie and her husband opened, owned and operated the former Merenda Furniture in Meadville. It remained in existence until 1993. In her earlier years, she had been employed by the former Talon, Inc., of Meadville.
Dollie is survived by two sons Ralph Merenda and his wife Mary of Meadville, Dominic Merenda and his wife Joan of Florida, five grandchildren Steve Merenda and his wife Amy of Florida, John Merenda of Colorado, Lisa Cremonese and her husband Randy of Meadville, Diane Merenda of Colorado, Lori Merenda of Florida, five great grandchildren Anthony Cremonese of Meadville, Vincent and Olivia Merenda of Florida, Griffin and Logan Merenda of Colorado, a brother Sam Affinito and his wife Maryann of Guys Mills, four sisters Jean Watson of Florida, Joann Rothrock of Kentucky, Ann McFadden of Oil City, Louise Caskey of Meadville, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Patsy of 48 years, Dollie was preceded in death by an infant brother Johnny, five sisters Jenny ODay, Helen Titta, Carmella Dickey, Josie Titta and Mary Titta.
A private family viewing will be held.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 21st, 2012, with Fr. Marc Solomon, Pastor, officiating.
Entombment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.
