Olive Belle Newhard Welch

Olive Belle Newhard Welch, 97, of 9108 State Hwy. 198, Conneautville, formerly of Saegertown, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community, Conneautville.

Olive was born in Meadville, on August 3, 1920, a daughter of the late Birt and Gertrude (Boyles) Crecraft.

On May 8, 1938 Olive married Robert Paul Newhard; he preceded her in death on March 9, 1992. Subsequently she married Edwin G. Welch who also preceded her in death.

She was a member of Carmel Baptist Church in Mosiertown.

On March 22, 1983 Olive retired from the former Crawford County Home where she worked as a Nurses' Aide for 14 years. She attended Ponce de Leon School, Crawford County. Always a hard worker, Olive loved being a home maker and raising her five sons. She enjoyed working in her yard as well as in her flower gardens. She enjoyed playing B.I.N.G.O.

Olive is survived by four sons Dan Newhard and his wife Charlotte, Paul Newhard, both of Meadville, John Newhard and his wife Paula, Mike Newhard and his wife Annette, both of Saegertown, a daughter in law Sandra Newhard of Meadville, 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Olive was preceded in death by a son David Newhard, a great grandson Aaron Newhard, a daughter in law Carol Newhard, 13 brothers and sisters.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 6-8 and on Saturday from 12-1 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 330 BROAD ST., SAEGERTOWN, where Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Temple Jarrell of New Beginnings Church of God officiating officiating.

Olive will be laid to rest next to her husband, Robert, in Saegertown Cemetery, Hayfield Twp.
