Joan M. Grippe

Joan M. Grippe, 81, of 1523 SW 50th St., Cape Coral, FL, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018, at Hope Hospice, Cape Coral, FL.

Joan was born in Erie, on October 28, 1936, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Hahn) Mozdy. The triplet birth of her and her brothers John and Joseph, was the first triplet birth documented in the city of Erie during the previous 50 years. At that time multiple births were uncommon so she and her brothers were a little "famous" within the community and they were much loved by family and friends.

On February 22, 1955 Joan married Joseph C. Grippe; he survives.

While living in Meadville, she was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church.

Joan loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was a 1954 graduate of Villa Maria Academy, Erie. Joan had worked for The Kenmore School System in her earlier years.

In addition to her husband, Joseph, of 63 years, Joan is survived by a son William Grippe of Atlanta, GA, a daughter Renee Bonnell and her husband Terry of Houston, TX, three grandchildren Courtney Grippe, Robert Grippe and Bryan Bonnell.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her two brothers John and Joseph Mozdy.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 28th, with Fr. Tom Trocchio, Parochial Vicar, officiating.

Joan will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Twp.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, PA 16335.
